Is Kurt Angle on his way back to the wrestling promotion that made him a household name?

According to Wrestlezone.com, two separate accounts from its readers who were in attendance at Arnold's Classic in Columbus, Ohio had reported that Angle, who is currently with TNA, was "teling people he will be returning to WWE in September."

The website also adds that neither the WWE, TNA or Kurt Angle have confirmed the rumors.

It also adds that the current contract of Angle will expire in September this year, and "barring any no-compete clause in his contract he would be able to return to WWE at that time. Angle has been more open in interviews lately about the idea of returning to WWE and finishing his career there, and he has even talked about who he'd like to face in WWE should he make a return."

Weeks ago, Bleacher Report carried a rumor posted at F4W Newsletter that WWE officials believed it was only a matter of time for Angle to return to the company. Word is that if he could not make it back as a full-time wrestler, he'll likely end up as a trainer for NXT.

The multi-titled Angle debuted in the WWE in 1999, winning the King of the Ring tournament a few months later and the capturing the WWE title in his first year. He headlined Wrestlemania 19, losing the WWE title to Brock Lesnar in a memorable match. Through the years, he had some epic encounters with legends like The Rock, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Steve Austin and the late Eddie Guerrero. During his stint, he won the WWE title four times.
