Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson admitted that he has turned down invitations to compete on the popular show "Dancing with the Stars" on ABC.

During an interview on Access Hollywood, Wilson said as quoted by ESPN: "I have been invited, twice actually. After my rookie year, I got invited to do 'Dancing with the Stars,' and then after this year, I got invited to do 'Dancing with the Stars.'"

The quarterback of the Super Bowl-winning team said he is a big fan of the show and admits hoping to participate in the future, but said that at the moment he is focused on his career with the Seahawks.

He continued: "I need to focus on my football career right now. I'm trying to do as much as I can in terms of winning football games for the Seattle Seahawks and our franchise. But I will do it at some point, for sure."

There has been a long list of current or ex-NFL players to have competed on the show like Lawrence Taylor, Jacoby Jones, Jerry Rice and Emmitt Smith. Wilson said: "I'm gonna do it at some point. I'm gonna definitely do it. I love 'Dancing with the Stars.' I love watching it. I love dancing myself. So hopefully I can win it."

The 25-year old Wilson is having a busy offseason after leading the Seahawks to a drubbing of the favored Denver Broncos in last month's Super Bowl. He is scheduled to join the Texas Rangers' spring training complex and work out with the team on Monday.
