Today at 2:00 p.m. ET in the sweltering heat of Kingston Park, Jamaica the West Indies will square off with Ireland in the Twenty20 Internationals in a cricket match that can be live streamed free by clicking this link.
Kingston is expected to be hitting 87 degrees Farenheit when these two sides take the field for a limited-overs matchup, which the West Indies is using as a tune up for their trio of stars, Chris Gayle, Darren Sammy and Marlon Samuels. Those three were not present for the West Indies when they played over in New Zealand.
Gayle is a hulking monster in T20, but the Irish will be hoping his layoff will render him unable to reach maximum potency in this pairing. Gayle probably won't be going all-out against a subpar Irish squad as he is working his way back from a bad hamstring injury. The West Indies may not need Gayle in top form to emerge victorious in this particular series, but with the ICC World Twenty20 kicking off in March, with some other important series commencing just prior, he will need to be feeling his best by then.
For the Irish, they will rely on Paul Stirling to remain competitive. Stirling racked up four fifties and 507 runs from 21 innings in T20. He also has a career strike rate of 126.75, and looked frightening against Afghanistan.
The squads for this series are as follows:
West Indies: Darren Sammy (c), Samuel Badree, Dwayne Bravo, Andre Fletcher, Chris Gayle, Sunil Narine, Denesh Ramdin, Ravi Rampaul, Andre Russell, Marlon Samuels, Krishmar Santokie, Lendl Simmons, Dwayne Smith
Ireland: William Porterfield (c), Alex Cusack, George Dockrell, Ed Joyce, Andrew McBrine, Tim Murtagh, Kevin O'Brien, Niall O'Brien, AndrewPoynter, Max Sorensen, James Shannon, Paul Stirling, Stuart Thompson, Gary Wilson, Craig Young
