Roddy White arrested for car tints? Falcons wide receiver briefly locked up for failure to appear in court [VIDEO]

While Ray Rice was grabbing headlines over the weekend for allegedly punching out his fiancée at Revel casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White was getting arrested as well.

White's transgressions appear to be far less serious, however, as he was arrested and booked into Gwinnett County Jail at 4:30 a.m. for failure to report to court in response to a traffic violation. Apparently Sharod Lamar White received a ticket for illegal window tints, "non-transparent material on windows" in police parlance. He was booked and then released about 90 minutes later on $168 bond.

Fantasy football owners probably aren't shedding any tears for White, who more than likely wrecked their 2013 seasons while he battled a number of injuries. He had been a model of consistency for Atlanta since 2007, becoming known as an ironman of sorts who could be relied upon to deliver 80-plus catches and 1,000-plus yards per season.

In 2014 though a sprained ankle, and later knee injuries hobbled him and limited him to 63 grabs for 711 yards and three touchdowns. His down year plus the embarrassing offseason transgression may look bad for White and the Falcons, but it would be unwise to write him off.

Upon healing up toward the end of the season White looked like his old self. In Week 12 he made 10 catches for 143 yards against the Bills, then snatched 12 more passed for 143 yards and a score against the 49ers in Week 15. He finished up the season with an eight-reception, 91-yard performance against the Carolina Panthers in which he caught another TD.

Regarding his arrest the Falcons released a statement that confirmed they were aware of the situation and said "we anticipate this will be resolved shortly."
