Kevin Durant has filed suit against his one-time personal accountant, charging the man tried to write off too many items as business expenses that now having him fielding questions from the IRS.
According to TMZ Sports, Durant names Joel Elliott as the defendant in his suit and is seeking somewhere in the neighborhood of $200,000to cover what hes spent cleaning up the mess. The website reports Elliott tried to write off his personal chef as a business expense, one of the examples Durant used to make his case..
In his lawsuit Durant charges, "fees paid to a personal chef would not be regarded by a reasonably prudent accountant as qualifying for a business expense deduction."
The Oklahoma City star forward further alleges that his tax returns from 2007 to 2011 are so botched he had to hire another firm to fix what Elliott screwed up.
The 25-year-old Durant is leading the NBA in scoring through the first half of the season and is viewed as a strong favorite to land his first MVP award.
