Carmelo Anthony could soon be in a position to have his ever-elusive, first NBA title in hand.
According to Fansided.com, with a bit of fancy financing the high-scoring New York Knicks forward could join LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami next season.
Anthony has the option of becoming a free-agent this summer and though the Heat will have limited guaranteed money on the books to offer, Fansided reports if fellow free-agents to-be James, Wade and Bosh all agree to take just $14 million each Anthony could be slotted in with all the remaining money the team is able to generate under the salary cap, roughly estimated to be in the neighborhood of $14 million.
Anthony told reporters during All-Star Game weekend in New Orleans that he might even be inclined to take less money in New York if he can be convinced that the team will use it to bring in other star players capable of helping him land his first NBA title.
Certainly the proposed scenario in South Beach would fit the vision of the league's No. 2 scorer. Anthony has spent the last four seasons in New York, averaging 26 points and seven rebounds.
