It looks like teams in need of a running back will have a tantalizing target this offseason, as the Tennessee Titans are reportedly moving on from former 2,000-yard rusher Chris Johnson.

Omar Kelly of the Sun-Sentinel  sent out a tweet today that read, "I was told today that Chris Johnson is a done deal in Tennessee. GONE! Just not sure if he'll be trades or outright released."

Johnson has been known to cause a few headaches during his Tennessee tenure that have become migraines as his production dipped. He ran for 2,009 yards way back in 2009, but even though he's never failed to rush for over 1,000 yards in any season his game-to-game production has been inconsistent, while his yards per carry have dropped each year.

Last season Johnson averaged just 3.9 yards per attempt on just under 18 carries a game, while he hasn't topped six touchdowns since 2010. Titans new coach Ken Whisenhunt has denied the team is shopping their star tailback though, giving a different story to The Tennesseean.

"I am unaware of any kind of bonus situation due with him, or anything that means we have to make a decision like that on him now. So that hasn't been a factor in evaluating it. We have been here a month, but there is no timetable where you have to make any kind of decision on any player like that. We are going to evaluate it as we go," Whisenunt said.

If Johnson is indeed available, there are a number of teams who could use his services. An intriguing option might be the Baltimore Ravens, with Ray Rice having the worst season of his career in 2013. He recently has gotten himself embroiled in a domestic violence controversy in which he's accused of uppercutting his fiancée at an Atlantic City casino.

The Cleveland Browns may be in the market for a big time rusher as well, after dealing former first-round pick Trent Richardson to Indianapolis early in the season. A third club that might benefit from Chris Johnson is the Atlanta Falcons, who are loaded with talent at wide receiver, but got a subpar and injury-riddled effort from Steven Jackson.
