Terrell Owens has never had a hard time finding a way to attract attention, even if most of it was negative. Recent news involving T.O. can't be the kind he wants to be involved with though, as his wife was hospitalized after a suicide attempt.

According to reports, T.O.'s wife Rachel Snider tried to kill herself this weekend after bizarrely asking for a divorce two weeks into their marriage. Details are sketchy about the attempt, but outlets are reporting her condition is serious.

Snider, 33, is a postal worker from Texas who had been happily tweeting about how her first Valentine's Day as a married woman was rapidly approaching. She was blissfully unsure of what kind of gifts married people exchange. The marriage seemed to sour at warp speed though, and Snider soon began accusing Owens of marrying her for her money.

T.O. has denied using her for monetary purposes, but also wants out of the marriage. "I fell in love ... and now I feel betrayed and heartbroken," Snider told TMZ soon after tying the knot. She then accused Owens of marrying her so he could take advantage of her credit to buy a $2 million home.

Just last week Snider seemed to be handling the break up with some grace, sending out the following two tweets.

"My husband is a great man, an amazing athlete, father, and friend. He will succeed in all he does. His future is full of golden opportunities."

"Cont: for 5 years I loved and cherished this man as a friend, and a brother Christ.I can only wish the best for him.My love in never ending."

While their short marriage was funny to most at first blush, this macabre turn has become just another unseemly chapter in the book on Owens' wildly shifting career. While he has become a sideshow on many occasions for his odd behavior off the field, Owens' ability on the gridiron has never been questioned.

In his 15-year career, during which he suited up for the San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals, Owens made 1,078 catches (6th all-time) for 15,934 yards (2nd all-time) and 153 touchdowns (3rd all-time).
