David Lee scored 20 points and chipped in 11 rebounds as Golden State Warriors beat Atlanta Hawks 115-93 to end the seven-game road trip Saturday night.
For the Warriors, Stephen Curry added 18 points, 11 assists and chipped in eight rebounds, and shot six of 20 attempts from the field. Harrison Barnes and Carl Landry scored 19 points apiece.
Golden State had a 6-1 road trip against the teams of the Eastern Conference, which is their best trip so far. Previously, they had 4-3 as their best winning record on the road in the 1970-71 season.
''It was important for us to do that to show that we're for real and we're going to be here for the long haul,'' The Associated Press quoted coach Mark Jackson as saying. ''It was a quality, quality effort.''
Golden State played back-to-back games to end their road trip, but their players did not show signs of tiredness and won the game after their loss on Friday night.
''I told them before the game I'm tired so I know they're tired,'' Jackson said. ''Physically beat up, ready to get home. That's no excuse; 6-1 sounds better than 5-2. The good teams make sure that they finish the course."
''Even though it's a legitimate excuse about fatigue, we didn't allow it to take over us.''
Jarrett Jack finished with 13 points, eight assists and four rebounds. He also shot five of 13 attempts from the field and had three 3-pointers against the Hawks.
''We didn't want to go back with two losses in a row,'' Jack said.
During the game, it seemed as if the Hawks' players lacked energy to make a winning move.
''That was probably one of our worst games all year from the standpoint of just our energy,'' coach Larry Drew said. ''We didn't have it. For some reason, we did not have the energy. We were a step late with a lot of things and we shot short.''
For the Hawks, the top scorer Al Horford added 17 points and chipped in nine rebounds, while reserve Lou Williams had 16 points. Ivan Johnson finished with 15 points and nine rebounds.
The Warriors shot better in the game and they had 49 out of 99 attempts from the floor, while the opponents had only 31 of 84.
''Give them credit. They were on fire,'' Atlanta's Zaza Pachulia said. ''They did a good job and we didn't.''
The first quarter ended on a tie as both the teams scored 26 points each, but with the help of Barnes' pair of three-pointers, the Warriors outscored the Hawks 36-23 in the second quarter.
Golden State outclassed Atlanta in the third quarter by scoring 26 points, while the Hawks could add only 19.
When the fourth quarter started, the Warriors were in complete control of the game. The Hawks could make only 25 points against the Warriors' 26 to lose the game by 22 points.
