Ronda Rousey may not care much if UFC fans see her as a villain and boo her victories, but she'd better start buttering people up if her second career is to get off the ground. According to reports, Rousey is in the plans for two major upcoming films, Entourage and The Athena Project.

Variety is reporting that Rousey's charisma jumped off the screen for Warner Bros. during her fierce battle with Miesha Tate in December, and has designs on transforming her into the next great female action star. The timing makes a lot of sense for "Rowdy" Rousey; she's scheduled to face Sara McMann on February 22nd, then figures to take a long hiatus after two bouts with a short turnaround.

Entourage begins filming in mid-March, but The Athena Project doesn't even have a writer yet, so she may be able to get another fight in before that kicks off in earnest. The movie will be an adaptation of the best-selling book by Brad Thor that centers on an all-female counterterrorism unit.

It's not a bad bet by Warner Bros. that Rousey could excel on the big screen, because she's arguably the UFC's most bankable star at the moment. Mixed martial arts is a hypercharged and masculine world, but despite being an attractive woman Rousey's been able to keep the conversation focused on her skills and mean streak inside the Octagon.

Rousey's feud with Tate elevated her to the next level, and culminated with her submitting Tate via armbar on December 28th. After the fight she refused to shake Tate's hand, which earned her scorn from UFC's vast fan base.

"It's not a fakeable moment and it was entirely the right thing to do because I didn't think about it," Rousey said. "It was immediate. It was just like, 'nope.' Maybe if I took the time to think about it I would have changed my mind, but then it would have been the wrong decision, because it would have meant that my first inclination, I mean, I had that for a reason."
