Kevin Durant is the hottest player in the league right now, scorching 11 consecutive opponents for 30 or more points. Even James, the reigning MVP, admitted that he can't be stopped one-on-one. Still, this is a game between the Thunder and Heat, and their matchup is part of a whole.

Still, James can't help but be excited for this challenge. "I like going against the best," James said. "And he's definitely right up there. ... He's a great guy to compete against, man. I wish I could play against him every night because he brings that competitive nature out of you."

Durant has tried not to focus too much on his scoring binge, which is made even more impressive by the fact he's been without his running mate, All-Star point guard Russell Westbrook, since Christmas.

"I'm just going out there and having fun, man," Durant said. "I'm just trying to play. I'm not coming in saying, 'I've got to do this.' I'm not one of those guys that predetermines anything. I just go off how the game is played and the defense teams are throwing at me and just play and be aggressive that way. I'm just enjoying it and having fun with it and taking it a day at a time."

Durant, who had a mythical 50/40/90 season, meaning a year in which he shot at least 50 percent from the field, 40 percent from 3-point range, and 90 percent from the line, is chasing more history this year. He can become the first player since LeBron's teammate Dwyane Wade in 2008-2009 to average 30 points and five assists in a season; even more mind-boggling he might do it while shooting over 50 percent from the floor.

The last person to average 30 points and five assists while maintaining a 50 percent-plus field goal percentage was Michael Jordan during the 1991-1992 campaign. As Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said, "Video game numbers."
