Floyd Mayweather Jr. Next Fight: Cinco De Mayo Tough Sell For Amir Khan Fight? 'Money' Uncle Suggests Broner vs. Maidana Rematch On Undercard? [VIDEO]

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is remaining coy about his next opponent for May 3rd, but Manny Pacquiao has agreed to terms with Timothy Bradleyfor an April bout and Marcos Maidana is expected to face Adrien Broner in a rematch.

Amir Khan has a major following behind him, but Mayweather's uncle Jeff believes Cinco de Mayo weekend might be a tough sell for a pay-per-view matchup that doesn't feature any Mexicans. "Amir Khan is a good choice because he has a good following, so that helps a little bit in the pay-per-view," Jeff said. "But that's kind of tough to do a Pakistani on Cinco de Mayo, you know?"

He went on to say that the numbers might suffer unless the undercard is stacked with top-notch fights, or the second round of Maidana-Broner. For that to sell you got to add another set of veteran fighters on there or you'd have to stack the card with Maidana vs. Broner on the card as well."

While Broner vs. Maidana is a fight that will be hot with fans, it is unlikely that it could headline a pay-per-view. Despite the loss on December 14th Broner remains the A-side of the matchup due to his media profile and Maidana's relative lack of charisma. As the main undercard to a Mayweather-Khan fight, the rematch makes sense.

In fact, following Broner's shocking loss Mayweather suggested his "lil bro" fight on the undercard of his next match. He also suggested Broner avoid Maidana for now, but the "Problem" seems eager to atone for his first loss.

"I think what would be a good move for him is this," Mayweather said. "On May 3rd fight on my undercard. You know, fight a solid guy at 140, get back on track, get your career in order."

Broner wants to be back in the ring by April, but Maidana's gone public saying he won't be ready by then. Broner's best move is likely to sit tight, and indeed fight on May 3rd underneath "Money."
