St. Louis enters play having lost three of its last four while New York has surged recently but is coming off of a loss that saw their three-game winning streak snapped. The first time these two teams met, the Blues defeated the Rangers 5-3 in St. Louis on Oct. 12.

Both of the Blues goaltenders got thumped Tuesday as the team fell to the New Jersey Devils 7-1, but it was their teammates that took the blame.

"It's brutal," forward Chris Stewart said via the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. "Those are guys who battle for us all year and saved our [butts] two or three years in a row now. So we've got to be better for them. It's time to take a serious look in the mirror and get ready for New York."

The Rangers blew a 3-1 lead on Tuesday and ended up losing to the rival New York islanders 5-3 at Madison Square Garden. On Wednesday, general manager Glen Sather made a splash by trading defenseman Michael Del Zotto to the Nashville Predators in exchange for defenseman Kevin Klein.

"He's going to fit in our system very well," Sather told NHL.com about Klein. "The coaches know him, know what they are getting, know how he plays."

The Rangers have been led by Brad Richards, who has 38 points off of 13 goals and 25 assists while Mats Zuccarello has 35 points off of 13 markers and 22 helpers and Derek Stepan has lit the lamp nine times while adding 23 assists for 32 points.

Alex Steen has paced the Blues with a career-high 25 goals while adding 16 assists for 41 points while T.J. Oshie also has 41 points off of 11 tallies and 30 helpers and David Backes has found the back of the net 17 times and added 19 assists for 36 points.

In net, St. Louis will likely go with Jaroslav Halak, who is 20-7-3 with a 2.32 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage while Henrik Lundqvist will likely suit up for the Rangers and is 17-17-3 with a 2.54 GAA and a .915 save percentage.

The Blues look to turn their road trip around while the Rangers hope to embark on a new winning streak when the puck drops tonight at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
