Today at 2:30 p.m. ET the Brooklyn Nets (16-22) and New York Knicks (15-25) will meet at Madison Square Garden in the heart of New York City on Martin Luther King Jr. Day on ESPN. The Nets radio broadcast can be heard on 101.9 WFAN FM, while Knicks fans can hear their announcers on 98.7 ESPN New York.

The Nets got dropped by the Knicks in their first meeting by 30 points, but Brooklyn's turned a corner as the calendar switched over to 2014. They have won six of their past seven games, and just thrashed the Atlanta Hawks in London by a score of 127-110.

The Knicks showed signs of life too in the new year, but have regressed back again with a three-game losing streak. Today, their best bet to ending the drought is containing Joe Johnson, who hung 29 points on Atlanta on Thursday. "The ball was moving, guys were looking for each other and finding each other," Nets coach Jason Kidd said. "Joe has been off the charts. Not just the last few games but the whole season." Johnson will be joined by point guard Deron Williams in this one too.

The Knicks have the home court today, but that may not be an advantage right now. All of their three-plus game losing streaks have ended with road wins, and they just lost to the Clippers 109-95 at MSG despite a 26-point, 20-rebound performance by Carmelo Anthony.

"It seems that we can't figure it out here on our home court," Anthony said. "But despite these last couple of games, I think we've got a great stretch that can work in our favor if we get some things right, adjust some things and figure it out quickly."
