Tonight at 9:00 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1, the top-ranked Arizona Wildcats (17-0, 4-0 Pac-12) will engage in some conference action against unranked in-state rival Arizona State (13-4, 2-2 Pac-12) that can be live streamed by clicking this link. Arizona in unbeaten this year thanks in large part to super freshman Aaron Gordon, and a huge frontcourt that is dominating the Pac-12 on the glass with a plus-10.7 margin. "I think that's a real asset for them," Sun Devils coach Herb Sendek said of their towering forwards and center. "I think it helps them on both ends of the floor and most significantly it makes them a great rebounding team."
Arizona State is on the other end of the spectrum, ranking last in rebounding in the conference despite having seven feet, two inch center Jordan Bachynski anchoring the frontcourt and ranking second in the Pac-12 indivuidually. His battle with Arizona's own giant, Kaleb Tarczewski is one to watch.
"I think Kaleb's looking forward to it," Arizona coach Sean Miller said. "I think all of our guys are looking forward to the game against Arizona State. It's a big game for us, it's a game that our fans care a lot about, it's a home conference game."
Despite being ranked No. 1 overall, Arizona's been overshadowed in terms of attention by Duke, Kansas and Kentucky, despite outplaying all of them to this point and defeating the Blue Devils. Also, Gordon's been less hyped than the superstars of those teams.
He hasn't let that get to him, preferring to focus on the Wildcats' win total. "All we need to do is win," Gordon said. "That's what I came in saying and that's what I'm going to stick to. If you win and I think I know how to win with a really good team like this, then the pressure is non-existent."
