WWE SmackDown [SPOILERS]: Results from WWE SmackDown Tapings For 1/17/14 from Worcester, Mass

Reports indicate that the following was taped Tuesday night in Worcester, Mass. for the episode of WWE SmackDown that is set to air this Friday, Jan. 17 and airs just nine nights before the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh on Jan. 26. The Miz joined JBL and Michael Cole for commentary.

The show ended with an angered CM Punk coming out and calling out The Authority--saying that Triple H hides behind his wife. He was interrupted by The Shield and the New Age Outlaws who both surrounded the ring. Kane then came out and said The Authority wants Punk to headline WrestleMania which is why he's in the Royal Rumble match.

Kane said his directive is to make sure Punk is respected. Punk then insulted Kane, leading to Kane sicking The Shield and New Age Outlaws on Punk to beat him down. Kane chokeslammed Punk and stood over him to end the show.

Punk was interviewed by Renee Young earlier in the night and said he was planning on calling out The Shield and the New Age Outlaws and he said that The Authority can do what they want. The Outlaws kicked off the show with a tag team match against Cody Rhodes and Goldust. The Outlaws got the win after Vickie Guerrero came out and interrupted the match, allowing Billy Gunn to use the distraction to roll-up Rhodes and get the win.

The WWE continued the Big Show and Brock Lesnar buildup when Paul Heyman came out and said that Big Show would never hurt him because of Brock Lesnar. Show came out and Heyman ran away as Show said he will knock out Lesnar at the Royal Rumble after a flashback to him knocking Lesnar down on RAW was shown.

Bray Wyatt cut a promo on Daniel Bryan on the show. Wyatt said he wanted to grow up like his father but was never good enough and said he was destined for greater things. Wyatt said he gave Bryan the chance to walk with the reapers but now he will burn forever.

In other action, Rey Mysterio defeated Alberto Del Rio with a roll-up and Del Rio attacked him after the match while Big E Langston defeated Fandango with The Big Finish. Elsewhere on the program, The Usos defeated Antonio Cesaro and Jack Swagger in tag team action with Zeb Colter in a wheelchair to sell The Big Show's attack from RAW.

In divas action, Naomi defeated Tamina Snuka via pinfall with Cameron and A.J. Lee at ringside. Cameron attacked Lee during the match.

This episode of SmackDown airs nine days before the Royal Rumble and the WWE continued to hype up the 30-man match, the Brock Lesnar and Big Show altercation, CM Punk's problems with The Authority and Daniel Bryan's issue with The Wyatt Family.
