Brandon Jennings' brilliant performance in the last quarter of the game helped the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Philadelphia 76ers 105-96 on Monday night.
Jennings was the lead scorer for the Bucks with 33 points and eight assists. His 3-point shot in the final moments of the game proved very crucial. It proved to be a game changing shot, putting the Bucks in the leading position with 92-89.
''It was actually a big shot for us because they had the momentum,'' The Associated Press quoted Jennings as saying. ''It just gave us back the momentum.''
After Jennings, Mike Dunleavy shot a 3-pointer with 2:44 remaining. The Bucks were then leading by 10 points and the 76ers had very less time to regain the lead.
Dorell Wright of the the 76ers tried to attack from the 3-point range, but it was not his day. The Sixers had no answer for Jennings, who hit four 3-point shots.
''He kept his poise there and put it in,'' The Bucks coach Scott Skiles said.
Monta Ellis contributed to the Bucks' win with 18 points and seven assists and Mike Dunleavy scored 13 points and Tobias Harris added 10 points. The Bucks were very dominant in the game and they shot around 60 percent of the game.
Jrue Holiday was the top scorer for the Sixers. He contributed with 25 points, six assists and eight turnovers.
Jason Richardson added 20 points and two assists, whereas Dorell Wright scored 14 points.
At the end of the first quarter, the Bucks were leading by 8 points. The score was: the Bucks at 34 points and the Sixers at 26.
Richardson, who missed the last four games with a sprained left ankle, played brilliantly on Sunday. He added 10 points in the first quarter.
''I think we hadn't focused like we had the past three games,'' Richardson said. ''I think we kind of felt like it was going to be an easy win, like they were going to lie down.''
The Bucks scored 28 points in the second quarter, whereas the Sixers could add only 24 points. After the second half, the Bucks were leading by 14 points at one point, but after that the Sixers attacked them with full force to pull away some points. Young and Richardson hit consecutive 3-points.
The third quarter proved to be very good for the Sixers, and they added 33 points against the Bucks' 21 points. At the end of the third quarter, both teams had 83-83 points and the game could go in the favor of any team.
But the fourth and the last quarter belonged to the Bucks, who scored 22 points and let their counterparts add only 13.
