The Chiefs have one of the leagues best running games, and Indy has struggled at times to stop the run. However, sackmaster Robert Mathis of the Colts thinks their hot streak to end the season matters more.

"I think if you check the last six Super Bowl winners, they got hot at the right time," Mathis said. "That's what it's all about, getting hot at the right time."

If that's truly what matters, then Andy Reid's Cheifs may be in trouble. They enter this game losers of their final two games-although Week 17 featured mostly backups as the fifth seed was locked up. Reid was not concerned about the slow finish.

"It's the start of a new season. That's how the playoffs work," Reid said. "You're in the dance, as they say. It's another phase of the season. You've worked very hard as a team to get into this position. Now it's important that you exhaust yourself to make sure you're right."

Many feel that quarterbacks are truly what matter in the postseason, so the advantage likely goes to Indianapolis with Andrew Luck over Alex Smith in Kansas City. Smith obviously begs to differ, and touted how fresh the Chiefs will be after resting and getting healthy last Sunday.

"Obviously, guys are going to be feeling pretty fresh, so that's a good thing," Smith said. "It will really help us as far as the week goes, having a great week of preparation."
