WWE SmackDown [SPOILERS]: Results from WWE SmackDown Tapings For 1/3/14 From Washington, D.C.

Reports indicate that the following was taped for the first episode of WWE SmackDown for 2014 Sunday night from Washington, D.C. The episode is set to air this Friday, Jan. 3.

In the main event of the evening, CM Punk and The Usos defeated The Shield in a six-man tag team match after CM Punk hit Dean Ambrose with the GTS and got the pinfall victory.

The Shield began the show by coming out and saying that the trio is stronger than ever. Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns then lost to The Usos by disqualification after Ambrose interfered. Punk then came in to make the save, leading to Vickie Guerrero announcing the six-man match for the main event.

In other action, R-Truth defeated Fandango after he was distracted by Cameron and Naomi coming out onto the stage while Big E Langston def. Curtis Axel with The Big Ending following Axel interrupting Langston's interview earlier in the night.

In divas action, Nikki Bella defeated Aksana on the program. There was also a Bad News Barrett segment.

This episode of SmackDown airs just over three weeks from the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event, but so far the only match announced for the January event is the 30-man over-the-top-rope Royal Rumble match with the winner being guaranteed a WWE World Heavyweight Championship shot against the champion at WrestleMania XXX in New Orleans on April 6.
