RJ Barrett Starstruck After Recognizing Jaime Lannister's Actor on the Courtside: 'Game of Thrones?'

Toronto Raptors recently went to Crypto.com Arena to square off with the Los Angeles Lakers and guard RJ Barrett had an unexpected fan moment.

After sinking a clutch shot that led to a three-point play, Barrett turned to celebrate with the crowd only to realize he was face-to-face with Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, widely known for playing Jaime Lannister in Game of Thrones.

As Sports Illustrated reports, Barrett did a double take, pointed, and excitedly asked "Game of Thrones?" as he grinned in amazement. At the same time, Coster-Waldau was also laughing out loud while smiling back as the Canadian cager refocused and shot his free throw.

After all, Lakers games feature celebrities in the crowds regularly, including Jessica Alba, Halsey, and Ben Affleck, who are all courthouse regulars. Of course, seeing anyone like Kristofer Coster-Waldau and sharing that brief connection during the heat of the game made Barrett's night.

Seeing 'Game of Thrones' Actor Wasn't Enough For Raptors to Win

RJ Barrett entered the fan-boy mode in a few seconds before sinking the free throw of a lifetime. Performing your best in front of a person you only watched on television is a dream come true for everyone. The interaction was hilarious , and Toronto fans think it can boost the team's power to edge the host team.

Of course, even that playful moment wasn't enough for the celebrity-filled crowd to tip the scales in the Raptors' favor. Unfortunately, the Raptors bowed to LeBron James and the Lakers at 123-103. The magic did not work, but Barrett knew that such a moment was once in a blue moon to happen.
