Stephon Marbury, a former NBA star, is convinced that the New York Knicks could make it for a championship. The current coach of a Chinese team said he'll take a championship, but he would love to see more talent on the roster to make it stick.
If the Knicks are desperate to make this happen, they must land another star in the lineup. As such, they could only wait for someone to go free agent like Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Upgrading the Knicks' Roster with Karl-Anthony Towns
Though Marbury didn't directly say they welcome Giannis, he mentioned they are open doors for elite players and that it is necessary for them to fit well with the culture and style of the team. Speaking to TMZ, Marbury said that the Knicks need to step up their game by adding some key players to the rotation.
The Knicks had already reconstituted their roster with the arrival of Karl-Anthony Towns in an offseason blockbuster deal before the season. The team is still adjusting to this new arrangement, and everybody looks for continued improvement as they develop chemistry and work toward triumph.
"We welcome all 75 top players to New York," Marbury said, "as long as they can fit within the system."
"I think we can win a championship with our team, but I do think that adding pieces is always something that helps," the former NBA point guard, who spent 13 seasons in the league, added.
