Travis Kelce Slammed for 'Tone-Deaf' Instagram Post Amid Election Fallout

For Travis Kelce, their win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was just another day, but for those who could not get over Donald Trump's win in the US Presidential Elections 2024, it has a big indication.

The NFL star Travis Kelce shared a series of photos on Instagram, which precipitated massive social media backlash against him. The Democrats did not like what he posted.

While Kelce personally has not taken a public stance on either candidate, his girlfriend Taylor Swift, did publicly support Kamala Harris and the election's results did not sit well with Swift's camp as Donald Trump entered back into the White House, Daily Mail learns.

Just an hour following the results, Kelce released snapshots from his impressive game Monday night as the Kansas City Chiefs downed the Tampa Bay Bucs.

While the pictures themselves were harmless enough, the timing simply ignited a firestorm of critical comments from fans who believe Kelce's posting was insensitive.

Travis Needs to 'Read the Room'

One fan on Instagram simply put it bluntly: "Read the room, Travis," while another added: "Travis, please, not now. We are in mourning." A third urged: "Love you but maybe today isn't a good day for this pic to go up."

It wasn't long before fans of Donald Trump took notice and, never wanting to miss an opportunity to provoke controversy, dished out insults on both sides of the gauntlet: against the Chiefs' tight end and then at Swift.

Controversy Overshadowed His Impressive Game

Pictures captured Kelce in action as he put up his best game for the season, making 14 catches out of 16 for 100 yards. The catch marked his first 100-yard game for this season. He was not able to score a touchdown, but Kelce helped the Chiefs win 30-24 overtime, tying as the only unbeaten team in the NFL.

Swift Stays Silent on the Outcome

It is not known if Swift was with Kelce in Kansas City on election night or if she has publicly weighed in since the victory for Trump. Whatever the case, fans will again be confused if Kelce or Swift speaks to the social media outrage over the post.

One thing is clear: Swift was evidently a Kamala Harris supporter since endorsed her in her last concert in Indianapolis, Marca finds. But to avoid any conflicts, she just chose to stay silent regarding the recent election outcome.
