Fans would have to wait a little longer for Conor McGregor's highly anticipated return to the octagon.
UFC President Dana White announced that the Irishman's comeback fight against Michael Chandler, initially scheduled for UFC 303 on June 29 at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada, will be postponed.
McGregor reportedly sustained an injury during his training camp, though White did not specify the exact nature of the injury. A new date for the fight has not been announced yet.
This was supposed to be the 35-year-old's comeback fight in the UFC since a pair of losses to Dustin Poirier in 2021.
Fears of McGregor potentially backing out of the fight emerged when the UFC abruptly canceled a scheduled press conference 12 hours before the event in McGregor's home country of Ireland, which was supposed to take place in Dublin on June 3.
McGregor reportedly suffered the injury one day before the scheduled press conference, and although everyone involved attempted to salvage the fight, it was ultimately canceled within the last 48 hours.

White subsequently announced the replacement fight to cap off this year's International Fight Week.
Reigning UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira will take on Czech fighter Jiri Prochazka.
The 36-year-old Pereira recently defended his title against Jamahal Hill at the UFC 300 event on April 13, while Procházka also fought on the same card and won against Aleksandar Rakić.
