The Miami Dolphins are bolstering their defensive line with a veteran presence ahead of the 2024 NFL season.
The team is set to sign defensive end Calais Campbell, who will enter his 17th season in the NFL.
Campbell will turn 38 years old before the start of the 2024 NFL season, but he continues to provide a high level of play despite his mileage.
The veteran is regarded as one of the best players in his position throughout the 2010s, achieving First Team All-Pro status in 2017 and Second Team All-Pro honors in 2014 and 2016. He has also been selected to the Pro Bowl six times.
Campbell spent the 2023 season with the Atlanta Falcons, appearing in all 17 regular-season games. During that time, he recorded 32 solo tackles, 24 assists, 6.5 sacks, and one fumble recovery.
Calais Campbell will return to Miami
Campbell is set to return to Miami, where he played college football with the Hurricanes from 2004 to 2007.
He spent most of his career with the Arizona Cardinals from 2008 to 2016 before moving on to the Jacksonville Jaguars from 2017 to 2019 and then the Baltimore Ravens from 2020 to 2022, before his recent stint with the Atlanta Falcons.
The Denver native was named to the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team and recipient of the 2019 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award.
