Mbappe made it known when he first signed with Paris Saint-Germain as a 19-year-old in 2017 that Ronaldo was his childhood idol.

However, he also said that it has "ended," in the context that he is no longer intimidated by big-time players anymore.

"Cristiano was my idol when I was young and it was great to meet him when I went to (Real's training ground) Valdebebas. I adored him when I was young but that ended," the 2022 FIFA World Cup Golden Boot winner stated.

A viral photo of Mbappe as a child has circulated on social media for years, showing several Ronaldo posters all over his room.
