Fight has not been there for the Chicago White Sox in the past two weeks as they suffered a third straight series sweep at the hands of the Milwaukee Brewers.
Tommy Pham tried to fight. Though literally.
The veteran outfielder, acquired by the White Sox this offseason, trended on the internet on Sunday after the commotion with the Brewers side.
He was seen on the video putting up a fighting stance against Brewers catcher William Contreras after a plate play.
The confrontation started when Pham tried to make for the plate at the top of the eighth inning, with his team having a chance to tie the game.
However, Contreras prevented him from doing that, and with emotions running high, the Brewers catcher barked at Pham.
Pham, who was thrown out the plate, did not back down and tried to chase after Contreras.
The White Sox veteran remained heated after the game.
Talking to the reporters, he said he was ready to level up the barking and chirping on the field as he built his body for such confrontation during the offseason.
"I'm nailed out at home by a mile, I'm going to the dugout and I hear the tough guy with all the 'hoo-rah' s--t," Pham said.
"I'm never starting anything, but I'll be prepared to finish it. There's a reason I do all kinds of fighting in the offseason. Because I'm prepared to f--k somebody up."
White Sox went on to lose the game, 3-6.
Brewers need more fighting spirit
While Pham's actions showed he hates losing, the whole team must show on the field that they feel the same way.
They have now fallen to 15-45, the worst team in the league, behind by more than ten games to the next worst club.
They haven't won a game since May 21.
Next up for them are state rivals, the Chicago Cubs.
