The Buffalo Bills have made an unconventional move to bolster their roster.
The team has signed Olympic gold medalist and former WWE performer Gabe Steveson to an NFL contract, according to league insider Adam Schefter of ESPN.
The 24-year-old is set to sign a standard NFL rookie three-year deal despite having virtually no football experience at any level.
Per Schefter, the first time Steveson ever wore a pair of football cleats was at a recent workout for the Bills.
"I have been fortunate to compete at the highest level of competition in my sport but am looking forward to the challenge of seeing how my wrestling skills may translate to football," the wrestler stated.
Should the Bills win the Super Bowl with Stevenson on the team, he will become only the second athlete, after sprinter Bob Hayes, to win both a Super Bowl ring and an Olympic gold medal.

Steveson clinched an Olympic gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in the men's freestyle 125kg competition.
Moreover, he boasts an impressive record in college wrestling, securing two NCAA Division I titles at 285 pounds for the Minnesota Golden Gophers of the University of Minnesota.
He is also a two-time recipient of the Dan Hodge Trophy, awarded to the country's best college wrestler.
The Indiana-born athlete also wrestled professionally at WWE from 2021 to 2024. The promotion released him earlier this month as part of their NXT layoffs.
