Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green shared an intriguing perspective on the possibility of the Minnesota Timberwolves winning the 2024 NBA championship.

The four-time NBA champion recently appeared on NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal's "The Big Podcast," discussing what it would mean if the Timberwolves were to secure their first title in franchise history.

Green downplayed the potential reaction from people if the Timberwolves were to win, implying that it wouldn't garner much attention or enthusiasm.

"You never expect a team in Minnesota to win the NBA Finals. Let's just face it, if the Minnesota Timberwolves never win an NBA Finals, nobody's batting an eye like, 'why they never winning?' It's Minnesota," the 34-year-old said.

Green has not concealed his dislike for Timberwolves center Rudy Gobert, particularly during his guest appearances on the Inside the NBA show by TNT during their NBA game coverage.

Draymond Green names NBA team who deserve a break

On the other hand, when asked by O'Neal about who deserves a chance to make the NBA Finals, Green leaned towards an Eastern Conference contender whom he called a "fluke" this month.

The 2017 NBA Defensive Player of the Year believes that the New York Knicks deserve to make the Finals due to their passionate fanbase and the amount of time it has been since their last appearance.

"The Knicks deserve a break, it's been a long time... The New York Knicks win a playoff series and their fans go crazy. They shut the streets of New York City down for winning a playoff series. A game in the playoffs shuts the streets down. I think that's who deserve a break," the four-time NBA All-Star affirmed.
