Pep Guardiola and Manchester City cemented their names in Premier League history books after sealing a fourth consecutive domestic title win by taking care of business in the last Match Week of the 2023-2024 season.

The club needed all three points against West Ham United, and they imposed their will early on, grabbing a 1-0 lead right in the second minute after the whistle.

They scored another in the 18th minute, but the Hammers continued to be a threat after finding the net in the 42nd minute.

Bernardo Silva found Rodri in the perfect position to give his team a 3-1 lead in the 53rd minute, and they controlled the game from there.

Manchester City repeated what they did last season when they took over the league last month to steal the title win from Arsenal.

They now sit atop the mount of most consecutive Premier League wins.

Are they the greatest club in the history of English football? It's hard to argue for that when Manchester United has the most wins at 20, including the Football League First Division era.

For Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, it would not be wrong if their fans think that way.

"I'm pretty sure for our fans our team now will be the best (ever)," he said after the match.

"In terms of numbers, nobody has been better than us in goals, points, four (titles) in a row.

"We have done something unbelievable. Six Premier Leagues in seven years with the quality, the managers and teams in this league."

City has a long way to go to reset the record books. However, after a decade of running alone, they have something to say about being the best club ever.

The Pep Guardiola era of Manchester City has impressive Premier League records.

Aside from the most consecutive PL wins, the Pep Guardiola-led club currently owns the most points (100 points in the 2017-18 season) and most wins by a club (32 wins in the 2017/18 & 2018/19 seasons).

The Guardiola era also has the most Premier League away wins, 16, and the most consecutive Premier League wins at 18.

The team has clicked on everything ever since hiring the Spanish manager.

They also set the record for most goals by a club during the 2017-2018 season with 103. In the same season, they set the best goal difference at +79.

Most consecutive wins in the Top 5 European leagues

Bayern Munich is the most dominant club in Germany. City's four straight Premier League titles are dwarfed by the Bavarians'  11 straight Bundesliga victories from 2012 to 2023.

In Italy, Juventus was indestructible, winning the league nine straight times from 2011 to 2020.

Real Madrid, European football history's most successful club, currently holds the record for most consecutive domestic league wins at five.

They did it twice in club history: once from 1960 to 1965 and again from 1985 to 1990.

Guardiola was part of the club that almost matched this record when he played for Barcelona under Johan Cyuff's "Dream Team." They won La Liga four straight times from 1990 to 1994.

In France, Paris St. Germain won Ligue 1 ten times in the last 13 years. During that span, they were able to hold the title for four consecutive seasons twice.
