Tickets for the much-awaited Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul fight have yet to go on sale, but fans hoping to see Iron Mike and the celebrity Youtuber slug it out should try to save some more money.
The boxing match will be held on July 20 at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas, and ticket sales will only start on May 16.
Apps like StubHub, Vivid Seat, and Gametime have reported listings for the tickets, which they shared go as high as $8,000 for ringside seats.
Entry-level tickets are worth $575 at Gametime, but on sites like StubHub and VividSeat, prices range only from $323 to $2,184 and $247 to $3,140, respectively.
These prices already include taxes and fees.
Ticket listing sites said that, based on current inquiries, the venue may be filled to the brim.
$2 Million for Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul Fight Tickets?
Nakisa Bidarian, co-founder of MVP promotions handling the fight, said they have a VIP package being offered for the price of $2 million.
That is a staggering amount, but Bidarian said what they are selling is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that spans six generations.
The package includes two ringside seats, which casual audiences historically don't have access to.
NBC reported that the $2 million ticket also includes "first-row floor seats for the event, four second-row floor seats, a pre-fight locker room photo with both Paul and Tyson, gloves signed by both fighters and two-night luxury penthouse accommodations at the hotel where the fighters will stay."
The hype around this fight has been as high as the ticket prices, and Bidarian is "hoping that this becomes the most viewed streaming event in sports in the U.S."
Pre-determined results thrown at Jake Paul
The price better be worth it.
Some UFC fighters are trying to cast doubt on the authenticity of celebrity boxing fights.
Former Interim UFC Welterweight Champion Colby Covington suggested that Paul won his fights because he pressured his opponents to accept a multi-million profit instead of a victory.
Covington made the comment through The Rush With Maxx Crosby episode on YouTube and referenced Paul's fight against Tyron Woodley, whom he defeated in 2020.
"So he went over and fought Jake Paul after that and I heard a lot of people saying that he got paid $5 million to take the fight, and like you could see the way they were in the ring afterwards, oh bro what's up you know, like dude you just fought that person now you guys are going to be best friends. I just, I've heard a lot that they pay these guys off," he said in the show.
Woodley refuted Covington's comment, saying Paul hit him with "some s***."
Paul's reputation in boxing grows as he takes on more legitimate fighters.
He has a record of nine wins and one loss at the hands of pro boxer Tommy Fury.
He won against Woodley twice, back-to-back.
Mike Tyson said he will not pull his punches against the celebrity.
