Women's basketball is experiencing unprecedented popularity, and its trajectory continues to rise.

One proof of this is the recent move by the WNBA team Atlanta Dream regarding their game ticket presale for the upcoming 2024 WNBA season, which was launched on Sunday, April 21.

In response to overwhelming demand, the Dream has introduced location restrictions during their single-game ticket presale to prevent brokers from acquiring large quantities of tickets, according to an official statement by the team.

"The geofence restrictions permitted only residents of Georgia and all surrounding states (Florida, Tennesse, Alabama, South Carolina, and North Carolina) who had enrolled in the presale, ensuring that our fans have the best opportunity to see our biggest games," the team said.

The team's inaugural home game of the 2024 WNBA regular season at the Gateway Center Arena in College Park will be against the Dallas Wings on May 21.

Atlanta Dream's location restriction for tickets will be lifted

The team specified that the geographic restrictions would be removed from the presale within 48 hours, and single-game tickets were set to open to the general public on Thursday, April 25.

The WNBA is set to welcome several highly popular college stars, including Caitlin Clark, Cameron Brink, Kamilla Cordoso, and Angel Reese.

Meanwhile, the Atlanta Dream's first-round selection in the 2024 WNBA Draft with the 12th overall pick was 19-year-old Australian forward Nyadiew Puoch.
