The WWE has completely redesigned two of their tag team championship belts.
WWE Chief Content Officer Paul 'Triple H' Levesque unveiled a fresh version of the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship belts, now renamed the WWE Tag Team Championship, during the latest episode of Friday Night SmackDown on April 19 at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh.
The WWE Hall of Famer presented the new belts to the current champions, A-Town Down Under (Austin Theory and Grayson Waller), in the center of the ring.
The title was previously unified with the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship in 2022 until it was split during Night 1 of WrestleMania 40 earlier this month.
The new belt design replaces the old one, which has existed since 2016. Fans did not particularly favor it due to its toy-like look with the blue strap.

The equivalent tag team belts on Raw, formerly the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship, also underwent a striking redesign during its latest episode last April 15.
Triple H also unveiled it, and it was renamed the World Tag Team Championship. Awesome Truth's tag team (The Miz and R-Truth) currently holds the title.
Fans have warmly embraced the redesign of both belts due to their prestigious and distinctive appearance. In contrast to the previous design, both belts were essentially identical, differing only in the color of the straps.
