Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant has revealed his approach to injury prevention after missing only seven games this season.

"No players flopped into my legs this year. Last two years, I had my teammate flop into me and an opponent flop into me two straight years that caused me to get MCL injuries," the two-time NBA Finals MVP said.

Two years ago, in January 2022, while Durant was still with the Brooklyn Nets, teammate Bruce Brown collided with his left knee.

Last season, Miami Heat forward Jimmy Butler inadvertently rolled into Durant's legs, resulting in a right knee injury in January 2023.

These injuries during the past two campaigns caused him to miss approximately two months each.

"If it wasn't for that, I probably would've been out there the same amount of games, but I'm glad nobody flopped into me. Had a couple of nagging injuries, but it was day-to-day type of stuff. I'm grateful for that," the NBA 75th Anniversary Team member added.

Kevin Durant advises on how to prevent injuries

Durant's 75 games played in 2023-24 marks his highest number of games played since the 2018-19 season with the Golden State Warriors, during which he played 78 games.

"Just stay away from the crash dummies, you know. The dudes who try to sell calls and don't mind hurting people by diving on the floor trying to sell a call. I know who those guys are, and I try to stay away from them," the 14-time NBA All-Star said.

The former NBA MVP has continued to be excellent in his 16th season in the league, boasting averages of 27.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 5.0 assists per game.
