Rockets Head Coach Ime Udoka Gives Esteemed 'GOAT' Praise to Mavericks Star Kyrie Irving

Dallas Mavericks star Kyrie Irving is already recognized as one of the greatest ball-handlers in NBA history, but Houston Rockets head coach Ime Udoka elevated his praise to another level.

Having previously coached Irving as an assistant for the Brooklyn Nets during the 2020-21 season and also with USA Basketball in recent years, Udoka brings firsthand experience to his high praise of the 32-year-old.

"He's the best one on one player I've ever seen, or coached, or been around. It's not a one off. It's not a one game, every other game, it's an every night thing. It's an every practice thing. He does something that wows you," the 46-year-old tactician told reporters ahead of their clash.

Rockets look to extend league-best streak

The Rockets currently boast the longest active winning streak in the NBA, having clinched victory in 11 consecutive games.

This remarkable streak has significantly altered their prospects for the remainder of the season as it enters its final stages.

Previously, their chances for securing a postseason spot seemed dim, but with their recent surge in performance, they are now in contention for the final play-in tournament spot, a scenario that appeared bleak as early as a month ago.
