WNBA Draft Player Profile: Kamilla Cardoso Could Pave the Way for the New LA Sparks

After a season of helping the South Carolina Gamecocks to an undefeated season, senior Kamilla Cardoso may be looking to take the next leap into a career with the WNBA. 

Cardoso has been a massive part of South Carolina's dominance this season and could likely take her game to the next level, joining the 2024 WNBA Draft class.

From: South Carolina

Height: 6-4 

Position: Center 

Draft Projection: No.4 to the Los Angeles Sparks

Stats: 14.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.6 blocks, 2.1 assists

Based on her time with South Carolina, Kamilla Cardoso could be taken anywhere from three to five. 

The Los Angeles Sparks have the luxury of possessing two top five picks in this year's WNBA Draft. With their second pick (at No.4), we have them taking South Carolina's Kamilla Cardoso

Throughout Cardoso's time with the Gamecocks, she has proven to be a difference-maker, especially on defense; winning the Defensive Player of the Year award as a freshman in the ACC.

Kamilla Cardoso would be an excellent fit for the Los Angeles Sparks. The Sparks would be getting a great defender who can guard any position. 

She has also shown to be a significant inside presence in protecting the paint, and could be paired in an elite front-court tandem with Cameron Brink for years to come with the Sparks; especially since Nneka Ogwumike exited via free agency this past season.
