Rams Secure Huge Free Agency Signing in Veteran All-Pro Cornerback for $10 Million

The Los Angeles Rams have bolstered their roster by adding a highly respected cornerback.

Two-time All-Pro selection Tre'Davious White is poised to join the team on a one-year contract, with a base value of $8.5 million, according to league insider Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Furthermore, the deal includes incentives that could elevate its total value to a maximum of $10 million.

The 29-year-old had spent his entire NFL career with the Buffalo Bills since 2017, earning recognition as a First Team All-Pro in 2019 and a Second Team All-Pro in 2020.

He was also selected to the Pro Bowl game in both years.

The Bills released White, safety Jordan Poyer, and center Mitch Morse from their roster earlier this month as part of cap-related adjustments.

Tre'Davious White is coming off a major injury

White is recovering from a torn Achilles, which he sustained in the third quarter of the Bills' Week 4 game against the Miami Dolphins in the 2023 season last October.

This injury understandably affected his market value for other free-agency teams. Given the circumstances, he opted for the best option available.

"The compensation metric for getting this deal done was one piece of the puzzle. The most important part was Tre having assurance and confidence there was a clear strategic plan for his return to the field at his optimal level," White's agent Kevin Conner said.

White will probably miss some of the Rams' offseason activities as he continues to recover from his injury.
