Kick Sauber’s Luck Is Worse Than Their Car Design

No one expects Kick Sauber to be a contender for point finishes in the 2024 F1 season, so the bar is pretty low. But amongst Sauber's pace issues, they also seemed to have a rough go at it in the luck department as well.  

You know things are bad when you are the only below mid-field team to benefit from Haas DRS train, as the train actually pushed the rest of the bottom five teams closer in time. But even as a result of this, the Kick Saubers of Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu still finished at the bottom of the barrel. 

A Lot of Work In Store for Kick Sauber Ahead of 2024

The Sauber C44 does not perform as well as it does brighten up the grid, but it isn't as lackluster in pace as per se Alpine, VCARB, or even Williams. Most of their far back finishes have been a result of bad strategy or even bad luck for the matter. Kick Sauber isn't quite at the bottom of the pack, but is still a bit off the pace for point finishes.
