Knicks Injury Report: When Will OG Anunoby Return?

The New York Knicks are on the verge of a significant lineup boost with the upcoming return of forward OG Anunoby, who has been sidelined since January 27 due to a right elbow injury.

The 26-year-old is anticipated to make his comeback as early as Tuesday, March 12, against the Philadelphia 76ers, to be held at home in the iconic Madison Square Garden, as per league insider Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium.

Anunoby underwent minor surgery in late February to address a loose bone fragment in his right elbow.

Anunoby has been sensational for New York since trade acquisition

Anunoby, Precious Achiuwa, and Malachi Flynn joined the Knicks through a major trade with the Toronto Raptors just before the end of 2023.

In this blockbuster deal, the Knicks acquired the trio from the Raptors in exchange for RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley, and a second-round pick.

Since then, the British player has emerged as a crucial asset for the Knicks, playing a pivotal role in elevating them to significant contenders in the Eastern Conference.

The 2023 NBA All-Defensive Second Team member maintained impressive averages of 15.6 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.8 steals, and 1.1 blocks in 14 games for the Knicks before suffering an elbow injury.

Anunoby also shoots 51.6 percent from the field, 39.1 percent from beyond the arc, and 84.2 percent from the free throw line.
