The Warriors are a talented team, especially on the offensive end, but they've been prone to slow starts this year. "We have to stop," forward Draymond Green said. "We can't continue to get behind like that and continue to try and come back and win."
It shouldn't be too difficult for them to start strong either, with a shooter Warriors coach Mark Jackson is already referring to historically manning the point. "He's a great player and an all-time great shooter," Jackson said of Stephen Curry, who nailed a go-ahead jumper that helped Golden State knock off the Dallas Mavericks. "I've seen Steph Curry every single day take that shot hundreds and hundreds of times, thousands of times, so when the curtains open up you expect it to go in."
The Rockets are playing their second straight game, after falling to the Portland Trailblazers last night. "They made some big plays down the stretch," center Dwight Howard said. "It seemed like every time we would close the gap, they came down and got a great shot. This was big for them."
James Harden has become the focal point of the Rockets offense again, as the team has better incorporated Howard of late so that he can mesh with the star two-guard. Harden will get a bit of a breather with Andre Iguodala out again for the 11th straight time. Harden is averaging 28 points per game over the last six contests.
