It is a battle between desperate teams this week.

Raiders vs Chargers Week 15 game opens a new chapter in the rivalry between the two teams but this time, the match means more than just edging one another for bragging rights.

Both the Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers' chances of making the playoffs are dwindling and they need to win all their remaining games.

Their 5-8 records put them at the bottom of the American Football Conference West and there is a very slim chance they will make the next round. It is virtually impossible for the team who will take the L in their Week 15 showdown.

Chargers vs Raiders Week 15 Odds, Spread, Betting Lines

With Justin Herbert out for the rest of the season for the Chargers, it is hard to think they still got any chance of making it to the post-season.

The doubt is manifested in their visit to Las Vegas with the Raiders being a slight favorite. The match is also expected to be a low-scoring affair.

Spread Favorite: Raiders -3 , Chargers +3

Moneyline: Las Vegas -158, Los Angeles +134

Total: 33.5 points

Chargers vs Raiders Week 15 Preview

There were high expectations for the Chargers this season after improving its roster and Herbert growing into a superstar.

However, things are going the opposite way for them with four week games remaining. Herbert is out for the season with a fractured finger, and hoping for things to turn out fine is a wishful thinking.

They lost four of their last five including the 7-24 trashing from the Denver Broncos at home.

Easton Stick will take Herbert's place although fans have to temper their expectations as this is just the 28-year-old's third game ever and his first ever start.

His coach and the rest of his teammates are trusting Stick to do his job in their next outing despite his lack of experience.

"The looks that he gives us week-in and week-out (on the scout team) are amazing. He's confident, he's poised, he knows the offense like the back of his hand," explained veteran defensive tackle Sebastian Joseph-Day.

As for the Raiders, the home advantage is enough for them to come out on top. They have a 4-3 record at the Allegiant Stadium while the Chargers are 3-3 on the road.

There is not much to be excited about in this game. Raiders were on the losing end of the ugly 0-3 victory by the Minnesota Vikings last week. Perhaps, they will have the energy now to bury that forgettable game.

Raiders lost to the Chargers in their first meeting last October but this game will be entirely different with Herbert not seeing action.

Chargers vs Raiders Week 15 Pick

It is hard to bet on Raiders given how they performed in Week 14 but they are the safest bet for now.

The safe bet, too, is to pick under 33.5 as both teams struggle to earn points in their last few games.

Raiders 18-9 Chargers.
