Austin Reaves of the Los Angeles Lakers has undoubtedly grown in popularity, so his name will always crop up in headlines, even if insinuations are untrue. One name that was linked to him was American singer Taylor Swift.

Rumors of the alleged Reaves-Swift dating cropped up in June. "Austin Reaves and Taylor Swift" became one of the most searched terms from June 4 to 10, per Fox Sports.

Reaves was recently put in a spot by former NBA player Chandler Parsons, who wanted to see if there was any truth in the Reaves-Swift dating rumors.

"There were some stories last year about you and Taylor Swift, before my boy [Travis Kelce] swooped it up," Parsons said.

Reaves said he was in Arkansas then, and a friend sent something to him.

"I was just like are you serious?...They try to attach names to people just because you're a Laker," the 25-year-old said in response to Parsons.

Parsons even asked Reaves if he was single.

"I'm not single. I'm good and I'm [sic]," Reaves responded.

Why LeBron James compared Reaves to Michael Jordan

Reaves and the Lakers are fresh from winning the inaugural In-Season tournament, a game where the 6-foot-5 player played despite dealing with a non-COVID-related illness, CBS Sports reported.

Regardless, Reaves played well and finished with 28 points on 9-of-15 shooting. This led James to compare him to NBA great Michael Jordan. Most treated James' argument as a joke since Jordan did more than score when he played with the flu.

"Who had the better flu game: AR or MJ?" James yelled via Jovan Bruha of The Athletic. "It's up for debate!"

James' rant refers to the game when Jordan played with the flu. This was in Game 5 of the 1997 NBA Finals.
