The Texas Rangers took back their home-field advantage after beating their hosts Arizona Diamondbacks in Game 3 of their World Series.

Manager Bruce Bochy's squad got less than 24 hours to prepare for Game 4 but that could be more difficult after they lost key players mid-game.

Max Scherzer was the first to leave the game after being forced out by a back tightness during third inning.

Mad Max came into the game with a cut on his right thumb that he had to resort to Super Glue to keep his hand functional.

Another Ranger who was not able to finish the game was Adolis Garcia who left in the eighth inning due to left side tightness. The injury occurred after he took a swing flyout to center field. He could not hide the pain as he grimaced and limped right after he made the bat.

Injury updates on Scherzer and Garcia

Scherzer will likely be out for tomorrow's Game 4 but he is keeping hopes he will still be able to pitch.

"Max Scherzer says his back is not a strain, but a spasm," The Athletic's Levi Weaver reported.

"Says he's had this happen before and clear in 48-72 hours, and other times it has been worse. Won't know which this is for a couple of days."

With regards to Garcia, fans will only learn about his status before Game 4 starts as he is set to undergo MRI.

"We're being optimistic there but we'll know more tomorrow," Bochy said.

Meanwhile, Andrew Heaney has been confirmed to start for the Rangers next match.
