Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James, alongside his business partner, Maverick Carter, issued a joint statement in response to the ongoing tragedy in the Middle East on Wednesday night, October 11.
James shared the statement through his social media platforms using his entertainment and production company, SpringHill Company.
In the statement, they characterized the events in Israel as "tragic and unacceptable."
"The murder and violence against innocent people by Hamas is terrorism. The SpringHill Company family sends our deepest condolences to Israel and the Jewish community," the statement read.
James and Carter also expressed their prayers for peace in the affected region and reaffirmed their unwavering dedication to combating hatred in all of its forms.
"We must all work to ensure this tragedy does not spread even more hate, racism, and antisemitism," the statement concluded.
The NBA and NBPA (National Basketball Players Association) also issued a joint statement on Sunday, October 8, expressing their condolences for the tragic loss of life in Israel and strongly condemning acts of terrorism.

Isreal-Palestine conflict death toll
At least 1,200 people have lost their lives due to the Hamas attacks on Israel, according to an update from Israel Defense Forces spokesperson Lt. Col. Jonathan Conricus on Wednesday, October 11 via CNN.
Additionally, over 3,000 individuals have been injured, and the whereabouts and well-being of approximately 150 people who were abducted and taken to the Gaza Strip remain uncertain, as per The New York Times.
