Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid shared his insights about the eventful NBA offseason, recently capped off by significant trades that rocked the league's landscape.

The 29-year-old took to social media platform X, formerly Twitter, to speak about the recent trades involving Damian Lillard and Jrue Holiday.

"This off-season was fun lmao," the reigning NBA Most Valuable Player said.

The Sixers were in the running for both the Lillard and Holiday sweepstakes. Ultimately, the two All-Stars went to their conference rivals Milwaukee Bucks and Boston Celtics, making it an even steeper climb to make it out of the East.

The six-time NBA All-Star's usage of the past tense when discussing the NBA offseason is noteworthy, considering that the 2023-24 season is still three weeks away, and one more significant offseason story is yet to unfold.

This specific narrative centers around his star teammate, James Harden, who is caught up in a feud with Sixers President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey.

This dispute stems from an unfulfilled promise of trading the 2018 NBA MVP to another team after he exercised his $35.6 million player option with the Sixers three months ago.

The Sixers are set to open the 2023-24 NBA regular season against the new-look Milwaukee Bucks, who just added NBA 75th Anniversary Team member Damian Lillard to their roster to pair with two-time NBA Most Valuable Player Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The game will be held at the Fiserv Forum on Thursday, October 26.
