The Portland Trail Blazers pulled off another NBA trade, sending Jrue Holiday to the Boston Celtics in exchange for more assets since the Damian Lillard deal on Sunday, October 1.

The Celtics sent disgruntled guard Malcolm Brogdon, Robert Williams, a 2024 first-round pick via the Golden State Warriors, and a 2029 unprotected first-round pick to the Warriors for Holiday, NBA.com reported.

Blazers stock up since Damian Lillard trade

In the aftermath of this latest blockbuster deal of the Trail Blazers, Portland ended up with a huge haul of players and picks.

Before the deal with the Celtics, they already had Deandre Ayton and Toumani Camara from the Phoenix Suns in the Damian Lillard trade. They also stocked up on picks, now owning three first-round picks and a couple of pick swaps from the Bucks, Adrian Wojnarowski tallied.

Further, Wojnarowski added that the Blazers plan to keep Ayton and pair him up with Williams. But a new twist lies over the horizon with Portland possibly dealing Brogdon again, aware that multiple teams are interested in the 30-year-old guard.

Celtics address playmaking void with Holiday

Questions were in the air on who could fill the Celtics' void at point guard following the trade of Marcus Smart to the Memphis Grizzlies. Also, it was no secret that Brogdon was unhappy with the Cs after his name surfaced in trade talks previously.

The coming of Holiday addresses all that, not to mention boosts the Celtics' defensive needs. The 33-year-old Holiday is expected to tandem with Derrick White, forming a deadly defensive backcourt, CBS Sports reported.
