New details have emerged on the Kevin Porter Jr. arrest on Monday morning for his alleged attack on his girlfriend, former WNBA player Kysre Gondrezick, at a New York City hotel.
Prosecutors revealed during the arraignment of the 23-year-old NBA player that Porter's assault left Gondrezick with a fractured neck vertebra and a cut above her right eye, according to doctors at the NYU Langone Medical Center, ESPN reported.
Kevin Porter Jr. pleaded not guilty to felony assault and strangulation charges tied to the incident at the Millenium Hilton near the United Nations in Manhattan on Tuesday, September 12.

Prosecutors added that the Houston Rockets guard did not stop until the 26-year-old ran out of the hallway in a bloody mess.
The 23-year-old player was in police custody since Monday, September 11, following his arrest at around 6:45 a.m. He was released on a $75,000 bail on Tuesday and was ordered to stay away from the former WNBA player.
Assistant Manhattan District Attorney Mirah Curzer also added that Porter had a history of abusing Gondrezick. That included an incident where he rammed his car into the WNBA player's vehicle.
Porter's late-hour return started it all
According to police sources, the whole thing started when Gondrezick got upset with the late-hour return of Porter and locked the door, ABC News reported. The Rockets player was able to enter the room with the help of hotel security but allegedly ended up assaulting the 2021 WNBA fourth overall pick.
Gondrezick told authorities that Porter Jr. repeatedly struck her in the face with a closed fist and applied pressure to her neck by forcefully squeezing it.
The Houston Rockets organization and the NBA are gathering information on the Kevin Porter Jr. case as of this writing. The 23-year-old was placed on paid leave based on the league's domestic violence policy.
