LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers has his sights on one more Olympics stint, according to multiple sources. Moreover, he is rallying NBA veterans to join him in Paris in 2024.

This development comes not long after Team USA failed to bring home a medal in the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup. The Americans ended their campaign on Sunday, September 10, on a sour note, dropping a 127-118 overtime loss to Canada, FIBA.com reported.

James was among those who followed the United States' campaign. Now, the four-time champion is allegedly ready to suit up again at the 2024 Paris Olympics, his fourth Olympic stint if Team USA opts to turn back to NBA veterans to comprise the team, The Athletic reported.

The 38-year-old NBA star has also reportedly spoken to other notable names such as Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, Anthony Davis, Draymond Green, and Jayson Tatum about suiting up for Team USA at the 2024 Paris Olympics. All are said to be ready to suit up as well.

Further, Devin Booker, Kyrie Irving, Damian Lillard, and De'Aaron Fox are allegedly also interested in representing Team USA.

Team USA moving backward instead of forward

However, USA Basketball managing director Grant Hill opted not to comment for now on the interest of these established NBA stars.

To head coach Steve Kerr's understanding, the deal with USA Basketball is passing the baton forward, creating a deep talent pool to give worthy players a chance to represent the United States.

Turning once again to James and other elder stars would be passing the baton backwards. Hence, it will be interesting to see what Team USA opts to do for the 2024 Paris Olympics squad. Although they could win it all again, it raises the question of commitment and addressing the US team's root problems at the moment, Bleacher Report reported.
