Today at 3:30 p.m. ET the No. 25 Texas Longhorns (8-3, 7-1) will square off with the No. 9 Baylor Bears (10-1, 7-1) who are looking to complete a one-loss season that may grant them a berth in a major bowl game. Watch the game on Fox or live stream it here. Longhorn fans can listen to the game on KVET 103.1 while Baylor fans may do the same on KRZI-AM.
Baylor has become must-see TV for any fan of college football, thanks to their scintillating offense that racked up 55.4 points per game and kept defensive coordinators up at night. Now, they have an opportunity to make their mark on college football, as well as the Texas football landscape.
"It would be tremendous for Baylor University, for our football team and everybody that loves this university," coach Art Briles said. "It would be one of the defining moments, I think, for Baylor football." A victory today will give Baylor the first Big 12 title in program history, even when Robert Griffin III was electrifying audiences in college.
Texas hasn't looked nearly as impressive as Baylor this year, but their tradition is still daunting. That said, Texas coach Mack Brown knows his charges are in for a dogfight.
"(Briles) has a great football team. It's a team that's in the top 10. It's a team that's playing before their largest crowd in the history of Floyd Casey Stadium. Last game there. It's for a championship. It's a great challenge for us and our team," Brown said.
Both teams will need Oklahoma State to fall in their matchup with Oklahoma to reach a BCS bowl game, but Brown has his team focused on their own game. "What we told the guys is if you win the game on Saturday, you will be champs. The game before us is something that's out of our control. Let's worry about how we play," Brown said.
