The USA Women's national football team barely got out of the ongoing FIFA World Cup Group Stage after settling with a goalless draw against Portugal.

Former national player Carli Lloyd has spoken critically of the team, and now she is having her 'I told you so!' moment on X.

Lloyd replied to an X user with a curious eyes emoji, as if suggesting, "you should have paid attention to what I said."

"Hmmm so @CarliLloyd was right the whole time about USWNT... but people gave her shit for speaking the truth ‍️," the quoted tweet stated.

Lloyd did not mince her words about the team she was previously part of.

Lloyd, who played 316 matches for USWNT in 17 years, suggested before the game against Portugal that Alex Morgan needed to be benched.

She also called out the team for their lack of passion and their arrogance.

"I'm just seeing a very lackluster, uninspiring, taking-it-for-granted, where winning and training and doing all that you can to be the best possible individual player is not happening," she told Fox Sports.

Coach Vlatko Andonovski hits back at Lloyd

Andonovski was made aware of Lloyd's comments about passion post-game and called them "insane."

"They've put everything they could in preparation for this tournament and every game that they go into, so to question the mentality of this team, to question the willingness to win, to compete, I think it's insane," he told reporters.

"I've never seen this team step on the field and not try hard or not compete. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, they can say whatever they want, but I just know how this team feels."
