Paris Saint-Germain is now considering superstar Kylian Mbappe for sale after the French forward stayed silent when club president and CEO Nasser Al-Khelaifi publicly declared his stance on the situation, per Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano.

The French club has been firm about needing Mbappe to sign an extension, or he will be sold this summer. They were waiting until July 15 for an answer from the 24-year-old, but they are now convinced that he has already agreed to personal terms for a free transfer to Spanish giants Real Madrid in 2024.

Mbappe, whose contract expires next summer, has repeatedly stated that he intends to play the 2023-24 season in the French capital, but the club does not want to lose him for free and would rather sell him now.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup Golden Boot winner has been left out of PSG's squad for their pre-season tour in Japan. The club feels betrayed by Mbappe's actions, and they do not want to be "paralyzed" because of one player.

PSG wants to get something for Mbappe

The club isn't exactly begging for Mbappe to stay -- they just don't want to lose him for free when he becomes a free agent next summer.

PSG acquired Mbappe on loan when he was 18 years old, which eventually became a permanent transfer in 2017, paying $200 million to AS Monaco.

It was the second-most-expensive transfer in history behind Brazilian superstar Neymar's move to PSG that same year, as well as the most expensive amount paid for a teenager.
